Halina Activity Centre
The Halina Centre offers programs and themed events for Vernon and surrounding areas, residents aged 50 and over, as well as their guests. We invite you to drop in to check out our wide range of social, educational and recreational programs. We’re a registered charity (formerly known as the Vernon Senior Citizens Recreational Society), with a convenient location behind in the Vernon Recreational Complex.
The Halina Centre’s Activities
Bingo is Tuesday’s and Friday’s 12 – 3
We have:
Billiards Room with 3 full size Snooker tables, and one pool table.
Canasta on Monday’s and Friday’s at 9:30.
Floor Curling Monday’s at 9:30 – 11:30
Halina Crafters get together every Wednesday at 1:00 – 3:00
Recreational Table Tennis meet Wednesday’s at 10:00,
Advanced meet Tuesday’s at 6:30 pm
Time-Out Stitcher’s meet every Thursday at 1:00 – 3:00
Beginners Tai Chi – 8:00 am – 9:00 am Wednesday and Friday
Put on your dancing shoes every Thursday from 2:00 – 4:00, there is a live band with coffee and snacks.
Membership
Memberships are just $25.00 annually (that’s only .50 per week!) and you are entitled to discounts on homemade food from the cafeteria, drop-in fees, dances and other events.

Halina Room
- $100/hour for the first 4 hours
- $30 for each additional hour
- Damage deposit is 50%
Club Room
- $60/hour for the first 4 hours
- $15 for each additional hour
- Damage deposit is 50%
Centre Café
- $50/hour remain unchanged.
- $20 for each additional hour
- Damage deposit is 50%

Every Thursday there is a dance with live music to enjoy. Band changes each week.
Dance starts at 2:00pm and ends at 4:00pm. Members $8.00, non-members $10.00 or just enjoy the music for $3.00. Beverages and light snacks included.
